California DUI Penalties are too hard to ignore:

2nd offense up to: At least 10 days jail; at least $1,500 fine and fees; 18 mo. DL susp. ; 3-5 years’ probation; and installation of IID device on vehicle.

3rd offense up to: At least 1 year jail; at least $1,500 fine and fees; 3 year DL revocation; and 5 years’ probation.
